From superstar DJs to Brit pop badboy Liam Gallagher, there’s so much live music still to come this year…

There’s rarely a week that goes by without a big name celebrity dropping into the UAE. Whether they’re snapping selfies at the Burj a la Mariah Carey, or making a splash at Zero Gravity like Justin Bieber, Dubai is the go-to destination for music mega stars to get some much-needed down time.

But it’s not all play and no work, as many descend on the UAE to put on a show for residents of the Emirate: and as we look towards the final two months of the year, there’s still heaps to come.

Here are all the concerts still to come in 2017…

November 10: Liam Gallagher & The Chemical Brothers at Party in the Park

Oasis frontman and renowned Britpop badboy Liam Gallagher will take to the stage for this year’s What’s On Party in the Park, which returns to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday 10 November. He will be joined by none other than UK electronica legends The Chemical Brothers, performing a very special DJ set. Read more about the festival here.

November 17: J-Lo

Jennifer Lopez is coming back to Dubai to perform for one night only at the Autism Rocks Arena on Friday November 17. It’s a return to Dubai for Lopez, who performed at Dubai Media City Ampitheatre five years ago. The 47-year-old singer is known for putting on a real show: we can expect a lot of dancing, bucketloads of sequins and a feather boa or three.

November 23: Ed Sheeran

It was announced back in May that multi-award-winning Brit singer songwriter Ed Sheeran would perform a one-off gig in Dubai in November, and now the gig is just around the corner. Tickets are sadly sold out, but after some debate over whether the gig would go ahead after the singer broke his arm in a cycling accident, it’s been confirmed that the Shape of You hitmaker will be able to go ahead with the gig.

November 23 to 26: Calvin Harris, Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Pink

High-speed action hits the capital every November as the final race of the Formula One season makes waves in Abu Dhabi. This year on top of all the racing action, you can catch four big names performing at the Yasalam after race concerts. DJ Calvin Harris will take to the stage on Thursday, followed by Kendrick Lamar on Friday, Mumford & Sons on Saturday and Pink, who will close the show on Sunday. You can’t purchase the tickets individually, as they’re part of the F1 ticket package. There will also be host of other international acts performing at Beyond The Track, Palm Garden Nightclub and the 1OAK pop up.

November 30: Kygo

Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo is coming to Dubai for a one-off gig on Thursday November 30 in Downtown. This will be the first performance in Dubai for Kygo, who has collaborated with megastars Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding and Julia Michaels. Since his breakthrough in 2014, Kygo has gone on to make a name for himself in the EDM industry as well as the commercial charts, making hits including Stole The ShowIt Ain’t Me with Selena Gomez and First Time with Ellie Goulding.

November 30 (or it could be 29): Take That

The UK’s most successful boy band in chart history, Take That, were here in 2015, and now they’re coming back – Gary, Howard and Mark will play a one-night-only gig at the Media City Ampitheatre on Thursday November 30. If November 30 is declared a dry night, the concert will be rescheduled to Wednesday November 29 (and all tickets will be valid for the new date).

December 6: Rufus Wainwright

Singer, pianist, songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright will perform a special and intimate set solo on guitar and piano at Dubai Opera on 6 December. Praised by the New York Times for his “genuine originality,” Rufus Wainwright has established himself as one of the great male vocalists and songwriters of his generation.

December 7: Texas

The Irish Village are bringing Scottish pop rock band Texas back to perform live in Dubai on Thursday December 7. You can expect the award-winning band to play a mashup of their classic hits, as well as tracks from their new album Jump On Board at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

December 8: Elton John

The twice rescheduled Elton John concert is set to go ahead this December, almost a year after the concerts initial date of December 15 2016. The musical legend is set to perform his first ever live show in Dubai as a part of his Wonderful Crazy Night tour. With over five decades of performing across the world and more than 4,000 gigs, he is considered to be one of the most accomplished live musicians in the world.
