The Ewaan brunch at the Palace Downtown is a Dubai classic, and it strikes the perfect chord between being family friendly and food focused. It’s the kind of place where your little ones will be entertained, but where the food is also very good, and very high-end. (An example? They serve lobster five ways.)

Love lobster? It’s served five ways at this brunch…

So, if you’re after a brunch option this Christmas Day that feels very luxury, and that boasts views of both Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa (and the Dubai Fountains), then Ewaan is a great option.

Book a table on the terrace underneath the wooden trellis that looks out onto the water and you’ll be entertained by a live band playing festive hits. There will also be a visit by Santa, as well as plenty of festive kids activities (so that you can eat your roast turkey in peace).

Definitely try and book a table al fresco…

The Christmas Day brunch costs Dhs550 with soft drinks, Dhs700 with house drinks and Dhs850 per person with bubbles, those under five dine for free and those aged 6 to 12 get a 50% discount.

We’ve had a look at the menu and it includes salted cod carpaccio, razor clams, Brittany oysters, sashimi, Peking duck, tempura, wild mushroom risotto, rib eye with Yorkshire pudding, mashed truffle potato, Christmas cake and red velvet log.

Can’t make Christmas Day brunch? Don’t worry…

While the Christmas Day brunch will be the pinnacle of the festive meals at Ewaan, they have plenty of other options. Plus, the Downtown location and iconic views make it a great option for when you have visitors in town.

CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER

Yorkshires, roasts, the lot…

Many cultures celebrate the festive season the night before Christmas even more than the day itself: and on Christmas Eve there will be a festive buffet featuring a visit from Santa himself – so tuck into a roast and celebrate with some drinks from 7pm to midnight. It will be Dhs395 per person with house drinks, and Dhs295 with soft drinks (plus those under five dine free, those from 6 to 12 get a 50% discount).

CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER

There are many different food stations to pick from.

Sit in the Arabian-style Palace gardens and enjoy a Christmas buffet dinner (all your favourite roasts, pies and pastries will be involved). The Christmas Day dinner runs from 7pm to midnight, and is Dhs295 per person with soft drinks and Dhs395 per person with house drinks (those under five dine free, those aged 6 to 12 get a 50% discount). There will be a visit from Santa to top things off too.

BOXING DAY DINNER OR LUNCH

There will also be two Boxing Day buffets (which will still feature classic Christmas roasts, pies and puddings) – the dinner buffet runs from 7pm to midnight and is Dhs250 per adult, while the lunch is also Dhs250 per person, and runs from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
