Sponsored: No New Year’s Eve plans yet? The Shangri-La Dubai is a classic, and it has NYE packages for all budgets and tastes.

Experiences range from Dhs375 to Dhs100,000, but they all have one thing in common: Spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa.

Read on to find out more about all the NYE deals at the Shangri-La…

The Shangri-La has phenomenal, unobstructed views of the Burj Khalifa (which is the show to watch come NYE). They have a super-luxe option on offer for those who want to go all-out on NYE too – for Dhs100,000 you and 14 of your friends could celebrate on the private terrace on Level 42, while being served fresh oysters, foie gras, premium Wagyu strip loin and lobster tails. And then, obviously, when the clock strikes midnight, you’ll have unparalleled Burj Khalifa views (advanced booking ASAP is essential for this one).

There will be a Carnival party at ikandy ultralounge (which also has great Burj Khalifa views) – there will be live acts and a DJ, as well as an international buffet and premium drinks. It runs from 8pm to 2am and costs Dhs850 for walk ins (no seat guaranteed) with an international buffet and unlimited premium spirits and house drinks; Dhs1,650 seated with an international buffet, premium spirits, house drinks and a half bottle of Champagne and Dhs2,950 per person seated with the buffet, premium spirits, house drinks and a half bottle of Dom P.

Also, if you’re dining in one of the Shangri-La’s restaurants on the night, you can pay Dhs500 to go to the ikandy party and get unlimited premium spirits and house drinks until 2am (it’s not seated, but you will have already had a sit-down dinner, and so can come up for the Burj Khalifa NYE show and party hours).

The Lobby Lounge has a great deal on New Year’s Eve – for Dhs375 per person you will get canapés and soft drinks; pay Dhs695 to upgrade that to house drinks – and with both packages you’ll get great Burj Khalifa views from the lobby, and you’ll be entertained by a four-piece band and DJ. (Package on offer from 7pm to 1am.)

Dunes Cafe will be serving an international buffet dinner on NYE, with a four-piece band entertaining guests for the evening, and the Burj Khalifa NYE show will finish things off nicely. The meal will include oysters, sushi, Wagyu beef, turkey, pasta and more. The offer runs from 7pm to 1am and is Dhs990 per person with soft drinks, Dhs1,395 per person with house beverages and half a bottle of bubbly (meanwhile, it’s Dhs395 for kids aged five to 12).

The New Year’s Eve dinner at Hoi An will be a refined seven-course affair – think sautéed Boston lobster served with pan-seared diver scallop, squid ink linguini, black truffle and caviar and marinated Wagyu beef strip loin with potato mousseline and wild mushroom confit. Diners here will also get an excellent vantage point for the NYE show from the lobby (or ikandy if you wish to keep the party going) when the clock strikes 2018. (The dinner runs from 7pm to midnight and costs Dhs745 with food only, and Dhs1,125 with wine pairing and bubbly).

And Shang Palace, one of our favourite Chinese restaurants in the city, is serving a NYE dinner that includes baked Boston lobster and pan-fried Australian beef with black truffle sauce for Dhs488 with food only, Dhs688 with house drinks and Dhs888 with house drinks and bubbly. You’ll then get to watch the famous Burj Khalifa show from the lobby. The dinner deal runs from 7pm to midnight.

At the end of the day, this view is priceless…
