It’s time to volunteer… and get in the sea!

Today is International Volunteer Day and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has decided to lead by example, volunteering to help clean up the sea.

Last month, the crown prince took to social media to ask his followers about what cause he should dedicate his volunteering efforts towards, ultimately landing on this environmentally-friendly endeavour.

In a video posted earlier today to his Instagram, Fazza can be seen diving into the ocean along with a number of school children, where they begin to collect various pieces of trash from the ocean floor.

“After careful consideration, I have chosen to dedicate my day to cleaning the sea,” he notes in a statement accompanying the video, “Making a difference to the environment starts with the small changes we make in our everyday lives.” Hear, hear!
