1. See an iconic musical at Dubai Opera

The run of  the tear-jerking Evita comes to an end at Dubai Opera on Saturday February 3. When it comes to strong First Ladies, Eva Peron is right up there among the best. The Argentinian heroine, a former actress, helped her husband Colonel Juan Peron guide the country through a turbulent time from 1946 to her death in 1952, and in doing so became an icon of the South American country.

2. Gather your mates for some pub-grub

The recently re-launched menu at Copper Dog now includes tailored set menus, so if you’ve got a big group to get together, you can tuck in to a selection of bites from Dhs165 per person. 3. Enjoy a wine and cheese night on the golf course

There’s a brand new cheese night every Thursday at the Jones the Grocer at Emirates Golf Club. From 7.30pm to 11pm, tuck in to a selected cheese board with unlimited red and white wines for two hours- it’s Dhs199.

4. See an emerging swiss pop band

Pegasus are one of Switzerland’s most successful pop bands, having recently signed a major recording contract with Columbia Music Germany. Their latest album was released last year, and we’re expecting new music to drop from the trio this year. The award-winning group are performing a one-off gig at the Madinat Theatre this Thursday.

5. Kick off the weekend with a ladies’ night

Ricetta at the Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai has just launched two ladies’ nights. Every Thursday and Friday night from 6pm onwards, ladies can enjoy two complimentary cocktails to get their evening started at this cosy Italian restaurant.

6. Head to a live music festival at a lively JBR bar

It’s fast become one of the city’s liveliest party bars, and this Friday Lock, Stock & Barrel JBR are throwing a Notting Hill-meets-Portobello Road one-day music festival. From 6pm onwards, expect a street party menu, with live music from 13 Daze.

7. Enjoy a nostalgic nineties night out

If you’re looking for a nostalgic night out this February, the Irish Village are throwing the bash for you. B*Witched, S Club 3, and Liberty X will all headline a night of British ’90s bands taking to the stage for the latest installment of Remix 92.

9. Take the family to a kite fiesta

Dubai Outlet Mall is hosting its annual Kite Fiesta this weekend. Visitors can witness a showcase of kites and kite flyers from the world, plus there will be carnival-style entertainment with kite making workshops, children’s play area, food courts and live music.

10. Check out a Beirut-themed evening brunch

Bhar, the modern Middle Eastern brasserie in the recently-opened Renaissance Downtown hotel has just launched a new Friday brunch. Bringing Beirut vibes to the Friday evening offering, Chef Mohanad Alshamali has curated a menu which  features dishes such as marinated poussin, Turkish beef tartare and sweet milk bastille. Local DJ Karrouhat takes to the decks to offer a lively vibe against the backdrop of the Dubai Canal.

Saturday February 3

11. Enjoy a grown up brunch

Equal parts cocktail bar, retro club and delicatessen, Barbary has just launched it’s weekend A La Carte brunch menu on Fridays and Saturdays from 12pm till 5pm. Not your usual Dubai Brunch, grab a chair on the terrace and tuck in to A La Carte offerings such as steak and eggs and the Barbary Shakshouka and a range of Bloody Mary’s to match.

14. Finish the weekend with a Saturday brunch at a luxury address

Malibu meets Dubai at The Terrace, Burj Al Arab, with Scape’s new California fusion brunch. Served straight to the table, it’s an international range of starters, mains and desserts including the sushi donuts, angus beef tataki, lobster, braised short ribs and glazed Baltic salmon. 15. Head to a full moon yoga class
