The Grammy nominated DJ will headline the one day electronic music festival on February 23

Groove on the Grass, the biggest electronic and dance music event in Dubai, is set to welcome Grammy-nominated musician, and producer Bonobo on Friday February 23.

Headlining the first event of the year, musician Simon Green, better known as Bonobo, will debut on the Groove on the Grass main stage, making history as he brings with him an 8-piece band for the live performance.

The musician and producer, who became popular in recent years for his unique blend of electronic music fused with influences of jazz and world music, has been releasing music for more than 15 years.

Recently the release of lead single Kerala off Bonobo’s sixth studio album, Migration, has seen Bonobo catapulted to international fame. Both the Migration album and the track Bambro Koyo Ganda have been nominated at the 2018 Grammy Awards for Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording respectively.

A full artist announcement for the February 23 event is yet to be revealed.

Now in its sixth season, Groove on the Grass is the leading event for electro music fans in the city. As well as two main stages and a mix of international and local talent taking to the stage, the one day music festival plays host to an activities area and marketplace with pop up stalls.
