It’s made out of 20,000 balloons…

You might want to “pop” on down to The Dubai Mall sometime over the next month.

Why? Because there’s an enormous (and eye-catching) masterpiece on display, made entirely out of red, orange and yellow latex balloons.

The mind-blowing sculpture, called Skyward, is by New York-based artist Jason Hackenwerth. His works have been featured all over the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the National Museum of Scotland, and the Guggenheim in New York.

His latest installation can be found above the entrance to the Souk, near Galeries Lafayette. The sculpture, which is made up of around 20,000 balloons, is 18 metres tall, dangling over three storeys of the mall.

It took 8 days to erect. Here’s the artist at work:

Skyward is free to check out, and will remain in place until the end of February (we imagine by this time it will have started to deflate somewhat).
