Add one of these hotspots to your January foodie bucket list…

From wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, to unique dining experiences you wouldn’t get anywhere else, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out in Dubai.

And if you’re looking for somewhere fresh to head to this weekend, we’ve rounded up three spots we reckon you won’t want to miss out on.

From a discount deal at a Downtown spot, to a City Walk brunch we could never bore of and a swanky new Mediterranean restaurant with a stunning outdoor terrace, here are three restaurants to dine at this weekend.

The brand new: Babiole

Contemporary Mediterranean spot Babiole has just opened on Level 44 of The Westin, Al Habtoor City. Split into a restaurant and bar area, there’s a modern dining space with white tablecloths and navy leather couches where guests can enjoy an a la carte offering of fine dining sharing dishes. It also has one of the tallest outdoor terraces in the city, with panoramic views down to Downtown Dubai to complement the Mediterranean fusion menu.

Babiole, The Westin Al Habtoor City, daily 7pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 437 0077.

The dinner deal: Loca at Souk Al Bahar

While Loca might be famed for having some of the best guac in town, there’s now another reason to head to the Souk Al Bahar branch – they’ve just added a taco room. Diners are invited to a three-hour package of build-your-own-tacos, with a choice of beef, chicken or fish and a host of fillings for Dhs149 per person including unlimited margaritas. Add on beers and it’s Dhs199. The spot also comes with some great Burj Khalifa views, so that’s where you’ll find us catching the laser show this weekend…

Loca, Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai, 3 hour package, daily 12pm to 2am, Dhs149 margaritas, Dhs199 margaritas and beer. Tel: (04) 449 4455.

The new brunch: Toro & Ko

If you like Spanish food, head down to Toro + Ko, which is dominating the brunch game in the burgeoning City Walk district. It features a selection of tapas including crispy patata bravas and grilled corn with espelette aioli, charcuterie boards and other Catalan favourites, alongside Toro’s famous paella. The arty interior (check out the colourful Ruben Sanchez paintings adorning every nook and cranny) and stylish patio give this place an unconventional Dubai feel. If the delicious paella pans and the laid-back atmosphere isn’t enough to tempt you, then the potent Sangria – with its delicious secret recipe – should do the trick. Prepare to be muy feliz.

The Square, City Walk, Dubai, Fri noon to 4pm, Dhs325 with soft drinks, Dhs450 with house drinks, Dhs550 with champagne. Tel: (04) 5905433.
