You can watch them being created this weekend…

Beachfront district La Mer will be given a 3D makeover as part of Dubai Canvas, which kicks off this weekend.

The annual art festival, which sees the world’s leading 3D artists flock to the city to create one-of-a-kind optical illusions, takes place from March 1 to 7.

In previous years, the festival has seen the walls and pavements of City Walk and JBR adorned with some pretty spectacular artworks. This year, organisers have confirmed that five permanent 3D murals will be created during the festival, turning La Mer into a real street art destination.

As well as the permanent murals, more than 30 local and international artists will come together to create temporary masterpieces using the public spaces at La Mer as a canvas. Around 45 artworks in total will be displayed.

There will also be demonstrations, workshops, live music, movie screenings and other activities which you can check out for free during the festival. Check out the full schedule at dubaicanvas.ae.
