Dubai’s first Vegan Community Day is a chance to learn more about living an animal product-free lifestyle

Do you practice a vegan lifestyle? Or perhaps you’re curious about an animal product-free diet? Then this Saturday, May 5 you’ll want to head down to the Rove hotel in Healthcare City for Dubai’s first Vegan Community Day.

Organisers are billing it as a chance for like-minded people to learn more about what it means to be vegan, and to try some delicious food in the process.

There will be a number of vegan-related activities to take part in including talks, films, poolside yoga classes and an all-vegan buffet for just Dhs99. Vegan products such as cheese, cakes and subscription boxes featuring only animal-free products, will also be on sale.

Veganism, as defined by The Vegan Society, is “a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.”

Vegans can often get a bad for being too preachy or that an all-vegan diet lacks proper nutrition, but as co-organiser Will Rankin explains, “Veganism is often misunderstood. The food you can eat is only limited by your imagination. We are so happy that Rove is willing to demonstrate that with a little knowledge and passion, a beautiful, satisfying brunch can be created, without the need to reach for meat, dairy or eggs,”

So, why not join the ranks of other vegans like Beyonce, Albert Einstein and Woody Harrelson and head down to see what all the fuss is about yourself?
