Say it ain’t so…

We’ve known for some time now that the Jumeirah Beach Hotel will be undergoing five months of major renovations from May until October in preparation for the hotel’s 21st birthday in December.

In a rather shocking news, however, it has also been announced that the hotel’s iconic 360˚ bar will be closing its doors in conjunction with the planned renovations and will sadly not be opening them back up again.

In an official statement, Emma Banks, General Manager of Jumeirah Restaurant Group, said: “The sun is setting on 360˚ in its current form and we would like to thank our colleagues for their hard work and dedication, as well as our loyal guests for the support shown to this award-winning brand over the past 13 years. I would also like to thank our entertainment partners: the DJs and artists of both local and international acclaim who, with the 360˚ brand, changed the shape of the Dubai nightlife scene for over a decade.  360˚ has a special place in the hearts of most Dubai residents and tourists alike and we look forward to giving this iconic venue a fitting send off in the coming weeks”.

The island-like venue has long been a popular destination for Dubai’s residents and visitors, offering killer views of the city and the Arabian Gulf courtesy of its 360-degree roof terrace. It’s also been home to many popular club nights, hosting international artists and DJs, over its 13 year run.

For those looking to give the now-legendary venue a proper send off, there will be a series of events taking place leading up to the official closing on Saturday 12 May. Stay tuned to the bar’s Instagram and Facebook for details.

There’s no word yet on what, if anything, will take its place, but we’d be surprised if the Jumeirah Group will let such a prime piece of real estate sit idle for long.

We’ll certainly keep you posted as and when we know more.
