Globally it ranks 46th out of all the world’s nations

UAE nationals have something to celebrate today, as it was revealed that their country has bested all other Arab nations to take top honours in a new global index.

The Henely & Partners’ Kochenov Quality of Nationality Index (QNI) placed the UAE 46th out of all the world’s nations, significantly ahead of the next closest Arab countries Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, which ranked 89th and 82nd respectively.

The ranking is based on a variety of criteria, including economic strength, freedom of travel, diversity of settlement, and the country’s stability.

The UAE’s standing has seen a steady climb since 2014, with this latest crop of results from 2017 nabbing it an index score of 45.8%, up from last year’s 44.5%. Over the last five years the UAE has climbed 13 spots to reach the 46th position globally. The QNI attributes this “mainly as a result of the significant strides the country has made for passport holders and visa-free travel destinations to the Schengen Area.”

France ranked first place globally with an index score of 87.1%.
