Sunday June 3

1. Get involved with an all-guys challenge

Across the next five months, casual dining restaurant Axe House will release ten separate challenges in their quest to find Dubai’s manliest man, with the first challenge kicking off on Sunday June. For the first challenge, guys are invited to smash out all their anger at Smash Room – just make sure you capture it on video.

2. Check out a new LED show at the Burj Khalifa

There’s a new LED show titled ‘Soar’ to check out at the Burj Khalifa this month. Selected from hundreds of submissions, Soar by 3D animator Víctor Gómez Ródenas will illustrate the celebration of life and energy in the universe.

3. Pamper yourself with a spa package

This summer The Spa at Address Montgomerie has launched the Relax and Hydrate package. The hour-long treatment includes a 30-minute oil and salt scrub and a 30-minute regenerating back and head massage, and is priced at Dhs385

4. Learn a new skill with a knitting class

It might be more commonly associated with elderly relatives, but knitting’s image is on the up, thanks to the embrace of hipsters and fashion types the world over. At Craftland, the small but mighty Jumeirah Road arts and crafts shop, a packed schedule of classes covers all things woolly, from quilt-making to sewing and crochet. There are twice weekly beginners knitting classes that cover all the basics, and clinic sessions to help you iron out any glitches in your technique.

5. Head to an inspirational talk by an Emirati poet

The latest in Flow’s series of inspirational talks takes place on Tueday June 5. As part of the Ramadan series, Emirati artist Aysha Al Hemrani will be discussing the new Arab culture, its changing perceptions of stereotypes and how her artwork represents the growth and revolution of the Islamic region

6. Check out an immersive art exhibition

Teaming up with 170 Renaissance Hotels around the world, The Renaissance Downtown Hotel will host the Global Day of Discovery for the first time since its opening in 2017. The hotel will transform into a blank canvas, showcasing immersive and interactive works of art throughout the building from local and international artists.

Wednesday June 6

6. Get fit with a wellness week

The Westin, Al Habtoor City is launching Westin Wellness Week with a week of free events specially devoted to health and well-being. It kicks off this Wednesday, with a dedicated 5km run along the Dubai Water Canal. Runners will then have complimentary access to the spa until midnight.

7. Keep the kids entertained with a discounted Play Town pass

Mattel Play! Town has introduced new Ramadan-themed activities for over the Holy Month. At the City Walk play space, young guests will be introduced to the tradition of scent mixing to design their own unique perfumes, shown how to string together prayer beads and bracelets, and get to experiment with henna and glitter painting. It’s free for adults to enter, and prices start from Dhs59 for children.
