Etihad to begin offering direct flights to Barcelona in November
Five times a week at first and then daily from April 2019
Fancy a trip from our capital to the capital of Catalonia? Well, you won’t have to wait long as Etihad Airways has announced that it will be offering direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Barcelona, Spain starting November 21, 2018.
Initially the route will be operated five times a week, with plans to expand it out into daily flights by April of next year.

Peter Baumgartner, Chief Executive Officer Etihad Airways, said: “As one of the largest unserved markets from our Abu Dhabi base, Barcelona – a hub of culture, commerce, tourism, education, fashion and science, has witnessed a significant increase in travel demand from the emirate, and from across our wider network.”
And he’s not wrong, Barcelona is consistently listed amongst the top 10 cities to visit in Europe thanks to its stunning architecture by Antoni Gaudi, and relatively low-cost of living compared to other European capitals.
Etihad will be operating a two-class Airbus A330-200 for the journey, which is expected to take approximately six and a half hours.
