Are you an adventurous foodie? Then this club is for you…

Dedicated Dubai foodies will already know about Frying Pan Adventures, the company that offers excellent food tours of Old Dubai (and if you haven’t checked them out yet, it’s the perfect activity for when you have visitors in town).

But even if you’ve already ticked off all of their tours, the Frying Pan Adventures team have just launched something new: A community programme called “Sufra”, featuring a nine-month menu of limited edition food and culture experiences.

Unlike the normal guided tours, these experiences will have more of a community focus. There will be Friday morning breakfasts, road trips beyond Dubai, visits to lesser-known neighbourhoods, interactive cooking demonstrations and more.

It’s basically like a cool foodie club – and if you join, you’ll get first dibs on the experiences, discounts for each event, and 10 per cent off the signature food tours for you and your friends/family. The full nine-month Sufra membership costs Dhs990 per person (or Dhs850 per person if you and a friend sign up together).

Don’t worry – non-members can also attend each individual event. Each experience is priced from Dhs200 per person.

So, what kind of events can you expect? In October, you can take part in a “Bombay Burger Battle”, while in November, you can try your hand at a Korean cooking class. Or in December, you can enjoy a traditional Emirati breakfast. There’s also curry tours, shawarma showdowns, and even a visit to a camel milk chocolate factory to look forward to.

And there’s plenty more where that came from – for the full programme and more information, visit
