There will be an inflatables heat where participants take part dressed as a sumo or T-Rex…

With Dubai Fitness Challenge just around the corner, the city is getting creative when it comes to new ways to have fun while keeping fit.

And one more has joined those ranks, as a giant inflatable obstacle course is set to land at Safa Park on Friday November, 23.

The 3km, 10 obstacle course won’t be timed or targeted so you can race, run or stroll through the obstacles as fast or slow as you like.

There will be heats though, so you can take part as a family, or take on the ‘Inflatables Heat’, where you tackle the course in a blow up sumo or T-Rex suit.

Obstacles along the course include the Himalayas, a set of mountainous ascents and descents; the Minesweeper, where participants jump from hole to hole to make it through a minefield; and the last obstacle, the formidable Equalizer, where you’ll have to take a leap of faith to finish the course.

Although the event is family-friendly with all ages welcome, it’s worth noting that children under 1 metre tall will not be able to take part.

There will still be plenty to keep the little ones (and those who don’t fancy throwing themselves at giant inflatables) busy, with a dedicated Village featuring a play area, market stalls, amusements, a mini food truck park and an after party with a live DJ.

Now, time to dig out our sumo suit…
