The airline will offer daily flights from Kerala to Abu Dhabi.

Indian airline IndiGo will operate daily flights between Abu Dhabi and the cities of Kochi and Kozhikode (Calicut) in the Kerala region, starting from today.

The low-cost carrier – which is India’s largest passenger airline – already operates 13 daily flights to Dubai and four to Sharjah. This is the first time the airline will fly to the capital.

The Abu Dhabi to Kochi flight will depart at 4.30am, with the return flight departing at 1.30pm.

The Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode flight will depart at 5.30pm, with the return flight departing at 12.40am.

Both routes have a flight time of around four and a half hours. Fares will start from Dhs355, and the routes will be operated in an Airbus A320.

IndiGo chief commercial officer William Boulter told Gulf News the airline expected to connect Abu Dhabi with other cities in the future, with “huge demand” between India and the UAE.
