UAE weekend weather: Fog returns and cloudy weather ahead
Temperatures as low as 8.9 degrees were recorded overnight at Jebel Jais…
It was a foggy morning across the UAE on Thursday as commuters headed to work for the last time ahead of the weekend.
Although Dubai remained largely unaffected, across several parts of the UAE visibility was reduced to less than 1000 metres on the roads according to the National Centre of Meterology (NCM).

The worst areas affected was the Al Dafra region.
It’s not uncommon for Dubai to face foggy weather at this time of year. Last December, Dubai faced almost a week of fog which, while creating some pretty impressive insta-snaps, also caused severe travel disruption for those heading home for Christmas.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the NCM is forecasting a build up of cloud as we head into the weekend, which could see some light showers in certain parts of the UAE.
And don’t forget to have your eyes to the skies this weekend. The year’s most spectacular meteor shower – the Geminids meteor shower – is set to be visible on Friday December 14.
While the meteor shower will be visible to the naked eye, with the possibility of sighting around 120 meteors per hour at its peak, you will need to head away from Dubai’s bright lights in order to see it.
