It might not be time to put away your winter pyjamas just yet…

Residents across the UAE can prepare for a cooler, misty weekend with a chance of rainfall, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

After a slighly warmer start to the week, with highs creeping back into the low 30s, temperatures are expected to stick around the mid 20s as we go into the weekend.

Overnight, temperatures as low as 8.5 degrees were recorded at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, while in Dubai temperatures dipped to between 16 and 18 degrees at their lowest.

Looking ahead to today, Thursday January 31 the NCM forecasts a fair and slightly partly cloudy day across the UAE with northwesterly winds freshening the air especially over the sea. Highs of 26 degrees are likely.

And what about the first weekend of February?

The NCM advises that there’s a chance of fog and mist early on Friday morning over the internal areas, which could develop into a partly cloudy day. Highs of 26 degrees are expected, while lows will likely be around 18 degrees.

On Saturday, we can expect a humid morning with highs of 27 degrees and a chance of fog and mist over the internal and coastal areas. Overall, expect a cloudier day with a chance of some rainfall over the sea and islands.
