He was supposed to perform at the opening of the Pakistan Super League in Dubai tonight…

American rapper Pitbull has been forced to cancel his appearance at the opening of the HBL Pakistan Super League in Dubai tonight. Citing a flight issue, Pitbull took to Twitter to apologise to fans saying that “we tried our hardest to get over to Dubai, so I want to say I’m sorry, I deeply apologise and look forward to seeing you guys and thank you always for the love and support”.

The Timber hitmaker was scheduled to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2019 edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) at 8pm tonight, Thursday February 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The opening ceremony will still feature appearances from Marcia Barrett, Boney M and Junoon.

This is the biggest Pakistani cricket event of the year, and lasts from today February 14 until March 1. The tournament will see 6 teams go up against each other to win the PSL cricket trophy.

Lots of the biggest cricket stars and sportsmen have arrived in Dubai this morning ahed of the tournament, sharing information of their arrival with fans. These include New Zealand cricket star Danny Morrison and Kieron Pollard, a cricketer from Trinidad and Tobago.

If you’re a Sports City resident, or planning to make your way to the tournament, please be advised that delays are likely around the roads. If you wish to avoid the traffic, then here are the match times:
