We’ll race you to that white house on the hill…

Planning a European getaway this summer? Ever considered Porto, the second biggest city in Portugal? If not, you might want to get it on your radar, as Emirates is set to launch a new service there this summer.

Operating four times a week from July 2, 2019, Emirates will fly direct to the Portuguese city of Porto on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The outgoing flight EK197 will depart from Dubai at 9.15am, and arrive in Porto at 2.30pm. The return flight, EK198, will depart Porto at 5.35pm and land in Dubai at 4.15am the next morning.

Porto will become Emirates’ second destination in Portugal, with flights to the capital city of Lisbon currently running twice a day.

Famed for its wine production and stately bridges, Porto is a costal town on the North West side of the European country. If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check out Porto’s museum, which traces the city’s rich history, or book a tour of the Port wine lodges.

It’s not the only new service launching in the summer. Dubai’s budget airline Flydubai will launch flights to two new destinations in June.

Flights to the Italian city of Napes will begin from June 4, 2019, making the budget airline the first UAE airline to offer direct flights to the city. It will be shortly followed by the Dubai to Budapest route, which will begin from June 27, 2019.
