A behind-the-scenes video reveals how it was done…

Earlier this year, an amazing display over the skies of the Burj Al Arab saw a record-breaking array of drones create an image of the Dubai Ruler HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. And now a video posted by Guinness World Records has revealed how the stunning image of the Vice President of the UAE was created.

The display, which saw Dubai Police Academy win the Guinness World Record for Most consecutive formations formed by UAVs was watched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

During the impressive display, more than 300 drones were used to create the images, as well as spelling out ‘Thank you Sheikh Mohammed’ in Arabic.

The display is thought to have been a reference to the 2019 Year of Tolerance, as well as a celebration of 50 years of the Dubai Police Academy. It took place on the evening of the Dubai Police graduation ceremony, which was attended by Sheikh Hamdan.
