We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out in Dubai – from celebrity chef-led restaurants to indie gems, there are new openings every week. So, if you’re looking for somewhere fresh to book a table this weekend, these are our top picks.

The brand new: Tasca
Tasca is the Portuguese restauant by acclaimed chef Jose Avillez now serving in the newly opened Mandarin Oriental Jumiera, Dubai. The sharing menu includes an array of modern takes on Portuguese signatures such as giant red shimp, Piri Piri chicken with smoked avocado cream and a surf and turf platter with blue Portuguese lobster. With spectacular views over Dubai’s glittering skyline on one side and the Arabian Gulf on the other, the restaurant offers both indoor seating and outdoor terrace dining complete with an infinity pool overlooking the Gulf.

The all day breakfast: Roberto’s
If you’re looking for a new breakfast haunt that doesn’t mean rising at the crack of dawn to bag a table on weekends, head to Roberto’s Dubai, who’ve just launched a new all-day breakfast menu. Returning to the traditional meaning of ‘brunch’ the menu is served on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm, featuring dishes such as scrambled eggs with burrata and datterino and French toast with coffee and mascarpone cream. Additional dish options include a traditional Roberto’s English breakfast, egg royale and smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs.

Back open: Retro Feasts
After a short hiatus, Retro Feasts is back on the beachfront of JBR serving up a brand new look and menu. The revamped interior pays homage to British pop culture, while the menu brings back the best of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, taking Dubai’s foodies on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Highlights include the classic fish ’n’ chips, the fish finger sandwich, the Retro Dirty Burger, mac ’n’ cheese, nachos, the corn dog and skin-on fries. Breakfasters can enjoy highlights such as the ‘Big British Breakfast’, waffle cup, smoothie bowl, and peanut butter and jelly French toast. The drinks menu offers classic thick shakes in different flavours, a juice bar, hot and cold coffee, and retro coolers.
