The UAE’s unstable weather is set to continue to the end of the week, according to the National Centre of Meterology (NCM).

After three days of strong winds causing blowing dust, sandstorms and poor visibility, the NCM has forecast a cloudy day with scattered rainfall today, Wednesday March 27.

Further warnings have been issued that these showers may become thundery at times, with a significant drop in temperatures.

Overnight, rain hit parts of Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Jebel Ali, while Dubai Marina residents faced showery spells on their morning commute this morning.

After highs of 34 degrees earlier in the week, todays temperatures are expected to peak at 27 degrees in Dubai and 28 in Abu Dhabi.

But there’s not just rain ahead. Moderate to fresh winds will pick up throughout the day causing blowing dust and more potential sandstorms across exposed areas of the UAE. It’s likely to be another day of poor visibility ,so motorists are advised to take care when driving across the emirates.

Looking ahead to the weekend, strong winds are expected until at least Saturday, bringing with it the chance of further sandstorms across Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
