As Dubai waves goodbye to the humid days of September, we’re welcoming the blissful days of October. Wondering what to fill your first week with? Well, there’s a celebrity chef dinner, artsy neighbourhood festival, inspirational talks and even movies by the beach to check out.

Sunday September 29

1. Feast on a traditional roast

Every Sunday and Monday, feast on a traditional chicken roast served with a house salad, Yorkshire puddings and honey glazed roast veggies topped with gravy and bread sauce at Tom Aikens’ restaurant, Pots, Pans and Boards. 2. Head to an inspiring, empowering talk

The WomenXChange is a social networking community bringing together like-minded women to exchange connections, ideas and friendships. Their next event will take place on Monday September 30, with guest speakers including Donna Benton, founder of The Entertainer, and Camilla D’Abo, former founder of Edelman Dabo.

3. Check out an artsy neighbourhood festival

The popular neighbourhood festival Alserkal lates returns with special dance shows, late night gallery openings, film screenings and more on Monday September 30. Check out their website for the full schedule.

4. Cool off at a new ladies’ day

La Piscina is the chic new pool at Palazzo Versace Hotel. Ladies can enjoy free entry between 1pm and 4pm every Monday and complimentary bubbles too.

5. Tuck into unlimited tacos

Every Tuesday from 8pm to 11pm, guests can tuck into unlimited servings of tacos for two hours served up alongside unlimited bubbly for three hours. There’s 8 tasty tacos to choose from, such as braised short rib, black cod, chargrilled chicken and garlic and tofu. There’s two packages available: unlimited tacos with prosecco, which is priced at Dhs295 per person, or unlimited tacos with champagne, which will set you back Dhs450.

6. Take advantage of a free coffee

International Coffee Day falls in line with the opening of London Dairy’s newest bistro in DIFC. From Sunday September 29 to Thursday October 3, the coffee shop will have a giant takeaway cup out on display in DIFC, if you can find it you’ll get a free espresso-based coffee or signature ice coffee.

7. Catch a movie on the beach

Now it’s finally cool enough to be outside for more than five minutes, Nikki Beach Resort & Spa is launching a brand new outdoor cinema. Cinema on the Beach will take place on Tuesdays, and for launch night on October 1, they’ll be showing The Man Who Fell To Earth. It’s Dhs50 minimum spend on food and drink.

Wednesday October 2

8. Dine at the hands of an award-winning chef

MasterChef, the TV Experience is set for a kitchen takeover by 2015 MasterChef UK champion and celebrity chef Simon Wood, who will offer guests a limited-edition menu from September 30 until October 4. The 5-course tasting menu is Dhs240, or Dhs410 including a wine pairing.
