Sun, sea and brunching – what more could we ask for?

A Friday afternoon brunch is a Dubai institution and a yacht day follows closely behind.

So it’s with excitement that we head to Pier 7 and board the Mega Yacht Brunch, which takes place aboard the 220ft Lotus yacht that comes complete with its very own pool, jacuzzi and two decks to flit between as the good times roll.

The day starts off with some serious Instagram opportunities, with the picturesque Dubai Marina serving as a brilliant backdrop to our pre-setting sail selfies.

Drinks are already flowing and there’s a perceptible thrill of excitement in the air as people graze on nibbles like chicken nuggets with a BBQ dip and crispy spring rolls, before the boat sets sail.

Resident DJ Dane Bowers is on the decks and warms things up with some much-loved nineties and noughties RnB classics which are the perfect fit for getting everyone in the party mood. As the day gears up a few notches, so does the music, with massive party songs to dance to all day.

With two levels for partying, you can choose from the top deck, which is the ultimate space for busting some moves, or drift away to the lower level and spend the day basking in the sea water-filled pool at the front of the boat.

Food comes in the form of an international buffet station, with smokey barbequed meats, salads and miniature chicken wraps. If you wanted to carb up for a long day of being outside, opt for the fresh pasta which is prepared fresh in front of you.

As well as brunching, the 3 and a half hour boat trip also doubles as a sightseeing tour, cruising past iconic landmarks like Atlantis, The Palm, Burj Al Arab and Bluewaters Island, so don’t forget to snap some shots.

Aside from the obvious (being on a yacht), the Mega Yacht Brunch is no fuss, no frills, but certainly a lot of brunching fun…
