Jason Derulo is no stranger to the UAE, having put on a number of incredible performances here over the years, and he’s set to make his return this September, this time to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi.

Taking place at Abu Dhabi’s National Exhibition Centre on Friday September 20, the Want To Want Me hitmaker will be hosting the awards alongside YouTube star, Haifa Beseisso.

At the awards night, attendees can expect to see famous international and regional performers across the music and entertainment industry as well as bucketloads of Nickelodeon’s famous green slime.

There will also be three days of The World of Nickelodeon, running from September 19 to 21, where kids and families will get to to see all of their favourite Nickelodeon characters and have the chance to vote for the winners of the awards.

Derulo said, “I’m honoured to be hosting the first Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi! We’ve got a thrilling show planned, and I can’t wait to be onstage celebrating with the kids.”

It will be the first time the long-running show has ever been held in the Middle East, with Abu Dhabi taking the reigns from predecessors in Los Angeles, Berlin, London and Mexico City.

That’s not all either. As part of a deal between the Middle East’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) and the owner of Nickelodeon, the awards are set to be held in Abu Dhabi for the next five years.

They are part of the Abu Dhabi Family Week, organised by DCT to bring more activities for kids and families to the UAE capital city.
