The famous arts and cultural hub from London will open its first overseas venue in DIFC in 2020…

It’s known as one of the most famous private members’ clubs in the world, founded by literary greats Charles Dickens and Anthony Trollope in London in the 1800s. And now The Arts Club is headed to Dubai.

Set to open in September 2020, the famous creative arts hub will take up residency in the new ICD Brookfield development in the DIFC area.

Spread over four floors and occupying more than 65,000 square feet The Arts Club will house a beautiful roof terrace, three restaurants; a modern European brasserie, contemporary Italian and a late-night spot for dancing and live music. There will also be private dining rooms, lounges, bars, a nightclub, cigar lounge, library and dedicated spaces for art exhibitions.

Membership

The Arts Club Dubai is also now accepting membership applications from prospective members based in Dubai, the GCC and throughout the Middle East and Asia.

Existing members of The Arts Club London will also be able to apply for international membership for a supplementary fee that will give them access to The Arts Club Dubai.

There are three categories available: full, spouse and young (for under 30s) and although membership fees were not disclosed, all new members will pay a one-off joining fee and an annual subscription.

The Arts Club London

History

The London concept was originally founded in 1863, but relocated in 1896 from its original home on Hanover Square to its present 18th Century townhouse at 40 Dover Street.

It fast became a haven for creative minds and entrepreneurial businessmen to meet, network and participate in events, and to this day it is still known as one of London’s most sought-after memberships for those in creative fields.

First announced in May 2018, The Arts Club Dubai will open first, and then a third venue will follow in LA. Alice Chadwyck-Healey, executive director of The Arts Club, said at the time of announcement, “The appetite both for first class hospitality and unparalleled art and events programmes is strong in both Dubai and LA, making them the natural choices for our first overseas clubs” she explained.

“Our expansion plans have been meticulously thought out and will be rolled out over the next three years, ensuring we continue to offer the levels of excellence that our membership demands.”
