The Hanging Garden Bridge, a leafy new footbridge, will measure 380 metres in length and 60 metres in height, spanning 3,422 square metres…

Earlier this year it was announced that Dubai was getting a leafy new tourist attraction – a hanging garden bridge suspended 60 metres in the sky. And new images have revealed just what that wow-worthy structure is going to look like.

The Hanging Garden Bridge has been designed by Hong Kong-based architectural firm LWK & Partners, and is a botanical footbridge that is set to link many of the city’s landmarks along the shores of Dubai Creek. At 60 metres in height, it promises stunning panoramic views of old and new Dubai, and will extend an impressive 380 metres in length.

Covering an expansive 3,422 square metres, it will be filled with a vibrant green garden that will have plenty of naturally shaded areas for outdoor activities, multi-level running and cycling tracks as well as some shops and restaurants.

According to The National, it will open at the start of 2021.

The project was approved by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai during a visit to the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) in April 2019.
