It’ll be the first time the Scottish singer-songwriter has ever performed in the UAE…

Lewis Capaldi is as famous for his social media presence as he is for his string of recent hits, and he’s headed to the UAE for the first time next year.

Set to perform at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre in Sharjah on Friday January 17, 2020, Capaldi took to social media to announce the news, saying he was “Buzzing to announce my first ever show in UAE! Can’t wait to get over”.

Tickets for the gig are now on sale, priced from Dhs156.

The Scottish hitmaker began releasing music in 2017, when his first track Bruises made him the fastest selling unsigned artist to amass 25 million plays on Spotify.

He kicked off 2019 with the release of his debut single, Someone You Love, which charted in 29 different countries and spent seven week at the top of the UK singles chart.

His debut album followed in May 2019, and became the best-selling album in the UK in more than five years.

As well as Someone You Loved, when Capaldi takes to the stage in Sharjah next year, fans can expect to hear songs from his chart-topping album including Bruises, Hold Me While You Wait and Grace.

Capaldi’s gig is one of a number of recently announced musical performances coming to the UAE in 2020. In February, 80s popstars a-ha will take to the Dubai Opera stage, while Lauryn Hill, Lionel Richie and One Republic will all take to the stage at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre as part of the 2020 line-up for Dubai Jazz Festival.

Lewis Capaldi live, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Sharjah, UAE, 9pm onwards, Friday January 17, 2020, from Dhs156.
