Sponsored: Expect endless live entertainment at the 50th anniversary of the ever-popular sporting event…

The 50th anniversary of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is almost here – and it’s set to be the best one yet.

The huge sporting event is returning to the Sevens Stadium from Thursday December 5 to Saturday December 7. And as well as the two major rugby tournaments, there’s set to be plenty of action off the pitch too.

This year, the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is celebrating the 1970s with its fun retro theme. So, if you’re already thinking about your costume, perhaps we can encourage you to dig out your best 70s wear? From flared jeans to bold prints and your best hippie gear, get ready to take a trip back to the 1970s this December.

As if your outfit wasn’t enough, the Rugby Sevens will see Bareface-trained dancers taking to the stage at the entertainment village, dancing their way through some of the greatest hits from the seventies era.

Top UK tribute act Joey Dale will also be bringing his rendition of Freddie Mercury to Dubai for the weekend, so expect to sing along to Queen hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You and Don’t Stop Me Now.

Straying slightly from the 1970s theme, entertainment will also come from cheerleading troupe, Mana, who have flown in from the UK, flag bearers, Dubai City Sounds Ladies choir and the skilled Police drumming Corps, all on hand to entertain guests throughout the weekend.

Of course, the entertainment highlight is set to be a live performance from Kylie Minogue on Friday December 6. Prepare to be Spinning Around to the pop songstresses best-loved hits including Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Locomotion and In Your Eyes.
