What is Black Friday?
An American tradition, Black Friday occurs every year on the Friday after the US celebrates Thanksgiving. In recent years the sale concept has spread to other countries, and usually means that retailers drop their prices, offering huge discounts on a range of items. This year, Black Friday falls on Friday November 29, and Dubai is getting involved in the action. Over the next few weeks online stores and shopping malls will announce special savings for customers for Black Friday, which may only last 24 hours or up to the whole month of November.

Carrefour says ‘Every day is Fri-yay’ with their week-long Black Friday sale. Running from November 24 to 30, customers can shop exclusive deals on electronics, beauty, home appliances and more. Deals include up to 60 per cent off outdoor essentials, 50 per cent off mattresses and 30 per cent off food.

Fancy having access to some of Dubai’s top hotels, pools, beaches and gyms for just Dhs633 per month? That’s exactly what lifestyle membership club, Privilee are offering in their Black Friday Deal. Between November 26 and 29, you’ll be able to purchase a three month winter membership for Dhs1,899 (upfront payment), with an extra two weeks thrown in for good measure. That works out at around a 47 percent saving on their usual membership fees.
