While we may not have got an invite, it looks like Sir Richard Branson did…

This December, the UAE is still set to welcome superstar performances from Boyz II Men, who’ll take to the stage at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena this weekend, and Bruno Mars, who’ll celebrate the turn of the decade in Abu Dhabi on December 31.

But it would appear one more megastar couldn’t resist putting on a show this December – pop sensation, Katy Perry.

The popstar behind hits such as Firework, Roar and Last Friday Night took to Instagram to share some snaps of her incredible costume, which looked to be a blue sequin catsuit, blue leather boots and a huge bright blue bow worn as a top, captioning the post ‘blueberry babyg in Dubai’.

Clearly those that were treated to the private gig, believed to have been at the start of the week, were delighted to enjoy a performance from the pop princess, with one snap showing a delighted array of fans with their phones in the air.

Although we’re not sure what the concert was in aid of – we certainly recognised one famous face in the audience, Sir Richard Branson. In her series of Instagram posts, Perry posted a photo of her and the business tycoon together, seemingly before or after the concert.

It looks like the Virgin boss has also been in the city for the last couple of days, and he’s been actively sharing updates with his 4.2 million followers from his trip to Dubai.

His trip looks to be in aid of promoting MADE51 products at his Virgin Megastores in Dubai. MADE51 is an initiative created by The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees that aims to bring refugee-made products to a global market.
