It’s looking like a mixed meteorological bag for the next week, with falling temperatures and the possibility of light showers…

The National Centre of Meteorology for the UAE has issued its weather forecast for the week ahead, and after an initial spike in coastal temperatures today with highs of up to 41ºC, the mercury looks set to drop as we move throughout the week.

From Tuesday, the bulletin suggests significant cooling – beginning in the West of the country – with increased cloud cover, fresh Northeasterly to Northwesterly winds and a ‘probability’ of light rainfall in some areas.

This trend is expected to remain as the prevalent weather condition for the rest of the week: partly cloudy to cloudy at times, the chance of light showers, and fresher-feeling ambient temperatures.

The coldest temperature recorded in the UAE this morning was 16ºC in the Raknah area of Al Ain. With Bada Dafas in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region recording yesterday’s daytime high at 40ºC. That temperature will likely be exceeded today.
