Those living in Dubai Harbour will know exactly what bridge we’re talking about

If you’ve been in Dubai Marina at pretty much any point in the day in the last 5 years, you’ll know why it’s famous for heavy traffic. However, residents can now rejoice, we have an update on the new bridge heading to Dubai Harbour and you won’t have to wait long to use it. RTA has announced that the bridge is now 90% complete.

The new bridge will link Sheikh Zayed Road with Dubai Harbour and will significantly reduce traffic in the Marina and Media City. The bridge is costing Dhs431 million and it will have two lanes in each direction. It’s also 1.5km long and will have a capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.

However we knew all of this information when it was announced by RTA but there’s now an update. According to a RTA’s most recent announcement, the construction of the bridge in Dubai Harbour is 90% complete and it will be ready for use in June 2026. The notice also states that it’s cutting travel time from 12 minutes to 3 minutes to Sheikh Zayed Road.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, said: “The project translates the directives of the wise leadership to develop integrated infrastructure that supports Dubai’s rapid urban and economic growth. It also forms part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to develop an integrated and connected road network, while enhancing infrastructure readiness to support future growth across key areas.”
