Dubai announces new guidelines for public behaviour and celebrations
Dubai is preparing to introduce new guidance on public behaviour and celebrations as part of its ongoing vision to become one of the world’s most liveable cities
The announcement was made by the Dubai Civility Committee following its fifth meeting, where members discussed a range of initiatives designed to encourage respectful behaviour, improve public spaces and enhance everyday life across the emirate.
A new guide for public behaviour
One of the key initiatives is the upcoming Dubai Civility Guidebook, which will set out a framework for positive conduct in public spaces.
The guide aims to encourage respectful interactions, reinforce shared community values and promote courteous behaviour in everyday situations, helping create a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
Responsible celebrations
Dubai is also preparing to launch a Guidelines for Celebrating Different Occasions guidebook.
The new guidance will encourage people to celebrate responsibly while being considerate of those around them. It is also designed to ensure public celebrations reflect Dubai’s values, culture and sense of community.

More improvements planned across the city
Alongside the new guidebooks, the committee reviewed several projects focused on enhancing Dubai’s appearance and overall city experience.
These include plans for a new lighting strategy across the emirate, as well as a wider assessment programme that will help establish new standards for creating an even better urban environment.
Putting quality of life first
Speaking after the meeting, Mohammad Al Gergawi, Chairman of The Executive Office and Chairman of the Dubai Civility Committee, said that improving quality of life remains at the heart of Dubai’s future development.
He explained that the committee is working on projects that enhance the city’s appearance, encourage positive public behaviour and create a better everyday experience for everyone who lives in or visits Dubai.
The latest initiatives form part of Dubai’s continued efforts to make the emirate an even more attractive, welcoming and enjoyable place to live, work and visit.
