Emirates has issued an updated travel advisory regarding the Ebola virus and you may not be allowed to enter the UAE

Travellers flying in and out of the UAE are being advised to check destination entry requirements carefully following updated Ebola-related travel measures announced this week and Emirates’ new travel advisory.

The updated advisory, issued on June 6, comes as several countries around the world introduce enhanced screening procedures and entry restrictions linked to the Ebola virus outbreak.

Under the new measures, effective from 1pm Dubai time on June 6 until further notice, the UAE will not allow entry to travellers who have recently been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan, unless they have spent more than 21 days outside those countries before arriving in the UAE.

The restrictions apply to all travellers, including those arriving through indirect routes.

Passengers transiting through the UAE must also comply with the entry requirements of their final destination country, with authorities urging travellers to check official government sources before departure.

The latest advisory notes that multiple countries have now implemented additional health screening measures and travel protocols in response to the situation.

Travellers planning international trips are advised to monitor updates closely, particularly if travelling through affected regions or countries that may introduce short-notice entry changes.

Authorities have not yet confirmed how long the restrictions will remain in place.
