Planning your next European escape? Etihad Airways has just made it even easier with the launch of two brand-new direct routes from Abu Dhabi.

The UAE’s national airline is now flying direct to Kraków in Poland and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, giving travellers two very different — but equally tempting — European getaways to add to their bucket lists.

The new routes are part of Etihad’s continued European expansion and further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a major global travel hub.

Kraków becomes Etihad’s second destination in Poland after Warsaw launched in 2025, opening up Southern Poland to UAE travellers looking for charming old towns, rich history and cosy café culture. Even better? Etihad says it’s the only airline offering a First cabin between Kraków and the Gulf region.

Meanwhile, sunshine lovers will be pleased to hear Etihad has also launched direct flights to Palma de Mallorca, creating the first-ever direct connection between Spain’s Balearic Islands and the Middle East.

The new route makes it easier than ever to explore Mallorca’s beaches, luxury resorts and scenic coastline — with Ibiza and the wider Mediterranean region also now more accessible from Abu Dhabi.

Both routes are operated by Etihad’s Airbus A321LR aircraft, featuring private First suites and lie-flat Business seats with direct aisle access, bringing a more premium feel to short and medium-haul European travel.

According to Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves, the airline’s growing network is designed to offer travellers more destinations and experiences while also encouraging visitors to discover Abu Dhabi through stopover programmes.
