After three decades of serving the Dubai community, Barasti is to close this month for a huge renovation

After three decades as one of the city’s most iconic venues, Barasti Dubai has announced that it will temporarily close its doors this June to embark on a huge redevelopment and makeover. Since opening in 1995, Barasti has held the distinction of being Dubai’s original beach club and sports bar all in one. What began as a modest pool by the beach, with a hut where live musicians played acoustic sets at sunset, it has evolved to host huge acts such as globally renowned DJs such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, Sigala, Alan Walker and Steve Aoki.

  You won’t have to wait too long for it to reopen though as it will be back in 2027 as a completely reimagined destination.

The new concept will introduce multiple zones tailored to different moods and moments, an elevated food offering and thoughtfully designed spaces for both adults and families. From sunrise to late night, the reinvented Barasti will welcome all ages, blending effortless beachfront living with world-class hospitality, exceptional dining and unforgettable entertainment. While the physical space will be transformed beyond recognition, the spirit that made Barasti a household name in Dubai will remain firmly at its core.

With thousands of new residents in Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour set to call the destination home, the new Barasti has been planned as a true community hub – a venue where neighbours gather, dine, celebrate and unwind.

“Barasti is more than a venue; it is part of Dubai’s story,” said Ugur Lee Kanbur, Multi-Property General Manager of Destination Mina Seyahi. “For 30 years, it has brought people together and created memories for generations of residents and visitors. We have been working on this vision for over 12 months and we are incredibly proud to finally share what lies ahead. We’re creating a destination that will honour Barasti’s remarkable legacy while taking it to an entirely new level. It will look different, but the soul of Barasti will remain exactly where it belongs.”

Before Barasti embarks on its next chapter though, the venue will throw one final party worthy of its legendary status. Taking place on Sunday June 21, the Barasti: Last Orders party will be the final opportunity for guests to experience the venue as they know and love it before the redevelopment begins. Starting from 10am with free entry, the all-day celebration will bring together everything that has made Barasti a city legend for the past 30 years — beachfront vibes, live DJs, ice-cold drinks, great food and an unbeatable atmosphere from day through to night. Guests can also enjoy a special farewell package priced at Dhs150, including three food items and five drinks.
