The UAE’s favourite grocery and retail products have officially been revealed as talabat hosted the first-ever talabat Basket Awards in Dubai.

Held on Thursday June 11, the inaugural awards celebrated the retailers, suppliers, SMEs and brands helping power everyday shopping across the UAE. The event recognised the businesses behind many of the country’s most-loved products, using real customer ordering behaviour, ratings and growth data from the platform.

Celebrating everyday favourites

The talabat Basket Awards were created to recognise the brands and businesses that have become part of customers’ everyday lives, whether that’s a go-to supermarket, a trusted pharmacy, a favourite chocolate treat or a late-night snack.

In total, 30 awards were handed out across a wide range of grocery and retail categories, highlighting businesses that have impressed customers through strong sales, repeat orders, customer loyalty and innovation.

Powered by customer choices

Unlike traditional industry awards, the winners were selected using real customer insights gathered through the talabat platform. Ordering trends, customer ratings, repeat purchases and business growth all played a role in determining this year’s winners.

According to talabat, the awards aim to celebrate the businesses that customers continue to choose and trust every day, from household names to growing local brands and SMEs.

Alix de Zelicourt, General Manager of talabat Mart at talabat UAE, said the awards recognise the businesses working behind the scenes to deliver everything from daily essentials to trending products.

Meanwhile, Mutune Kilonzo, Director of Local Shops at talabat UAE, said the awards also highlight businesses that continue to innovate, grow and raise the standard across the grocery and retail industry.
