5 feel-good things to do in Dubai at sunrise
Things to do in Dubai before the city wakes up
Not everyone loves an early start, but Dubai makes a pretty good case for it. Before the roads fill up and the city comes to life, there’s a calmer side to Dubai worth waking up for. Here are five reasons to set your alarm a little earlier.
Start your day with sunrise yoga

If your ideal morning starts with movement rather than hitting snooze, VEO Fitness has two complimentary community sessions worth setting the alarm for. Join a Hatha Yoga class on Saturday, July 11 for a gentle start to the day, or head back on Saturday, July 25 for a restorative Yoga & Sound Healing session combining mindful movement with calming sound therapy. Both sessions are open to members and non-members.
Where: VEO Fitness, Arabian Ranches 2 Leisure Centre
When: Saturday, July 11 & Saturday, July 25, 6.30am to 7.30am
Cost: Complimentary (registration required)

Watch the sunrise from the world’s tallest building

If breakfast with a view is your vibe, At.mosphere is worth the early start. Set on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa, the Sunrise in the Sky experience lets you choose between organic eggs cooked your way or fluffy pancakes with raspberry jam and vanilla Chantilly, all served with coffee while Dubai slowly wakes up below.
Where: At.mosphere, Level 122, Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai
When: Daily, 8am to 11.30am
Cost: À la carte

Take a scenic sunrise stroll

Sometimes the best plan is the simplest one. Pull on your sneakers, pop in your headphones and head out for a sunrise stroll while the city is still quiet. Whether it’s your favourite playlist, a podcast or just the sound of the waves, it’s an easy way to clear your mind before the day begins. For a slower pace, try the Dubai Creek Boardwalk, with its open space and easy walk along the water. If you’d rather be by the beach, head to The Walk at JBR or Kite Beach, where you can grab a fresh coconut or coffee and watch the sun come up by the sea.

All equipment is provided, so all you need to do is show up ready to hit the water.
