Dubai-based airline Emirates, the official airline partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, have revealed plans for their striking pavilion at the much-anticipated exhibition.

The futuristic looking pavilion has been designed with cutting edge-technology and features slanted architectural ‘fins’ to represent an aircraft’s wings ready to take to the skies. The structure will hold over 800 metres of LED lights, which will be used to put on spectacular shows every night of the 6-month exhibition.

In line with the Expo’s main themes; mobility, opportunity and sustainability, the Emirates pavilion has been created using interactive technologies and will highlight the future of commercial aviation.

At Emirates’ pavilion, you’ll be able to explore innovative materials being developed to improve future flying experiences and lower emissions. Also shown will be a biometric end-to-end passenger processing systems, that could one day mean you might not even need your passport to fly.

Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, said ‘The aim for our pavilion is very much in line with that of Expo 2020 Dubai, to stimulate connections, create experiences and foster creativity and innovation, inspiring a commitment for a better future.’

More than 192 countries have been confirmed for this super-sized exhibition that will see participating nations all come together to exhibit their feats in every sector from industrial to scientific to technological. It’s expected to attract 25 million visitors from all corners of the globe.

The site will be split into three main Pavilions; Opportunity Pavilion, Mobility Pavilion and Sustainability Pavilion. The Emirates Pavilion is located near to the UAE Pavilion.

Tickets to Expo 2020 will cost Dhs120 per day, and there will also be a three-day pass for Dhs260 that you can use for any three days during the entire Expo, running from October 2020 to April 2021. Children five years and under and people over the age of 65 receive free admission.
