Struggling to think of a new brunch to try this weekend? Akira Back’s Friday Back to Brunch might be just what you’re looking for.

Beautifully positioned at W Dubai – The Palm, one of Dubai’s freshest new hotels, you’ll have a stunning view out across the waters and Dubai skyline from the Palm Jumeirah as you tuck into authentic Japanese-Korean cuisine and carefully crafted drinks.

The sit-down experience is perfect for those who are looking for a more civilised way to spend a Friday afternoon. Available every Friday from 12.30pm to 4pm, it’s priced at Dhs445 with soft drinks or Dhs545 with house.

The self-named restaurant comes from snowboarder-turned celebrity chef, Akira Back and has swiftly been earning top marks from visitors across Dubai, with an already sterling reputation coming all the way from its long-established LA counterpart.

Everything is designed to share, and stand-out brunch dishes include the hirame carpaccio, grilled octopus and tuna tataki along with unlimited maki and sashimi for the sushi lovers. A must-try is the tuna pizza, which has become an Akira Back staple around the globe. Expect a light, crispy base, slivers of fresh tuna and shavings of truffle to finish it off.

Mains include Japanese-infused dishes like the Wagyu don, black cod and the jidari chicken whilst there is an extensive menu designed especially for vegan visitors.

Make sure to save room for dessert, where you’ll be able to indulge in mouth-watering Japanese desserts with a twist, like the salted macadamia caramel popcorn and coconut sorbet butter mochi, yuzu citrus and black and white sesame cake.

Vegans are also catered for, with a dedicated vegan menu available.

If you’re making it a family brunch, kids aged 6 to 12 will be able to enjoy the soft package for 50 percent off, at Dhs222.50, and children under the age of six dine free.
