As we head into the new season, Dubai’s brilliant alfresco venues slowly begin to open their doors, and show us what they’ve been working on over summer.

And one in particular that’s caught our eye is Mercury Lounge. The jewel atop the Four Seasons Jumeirah crown, the beautiful outdoor bar has had a Riviera-inspired makeover over the summer.

Reminiscent of a bar on the shores of the French Riviera, the sand-coloured hotspot has been kitted out with plush cream and bronze furnishings. The cosy cabanas that line one side of the bar have also been covered with peachy pinstriped canopies that give the place a luxe, seaside feel.

The menu has had a makeover too, bringing a further taste of the Riviera to Dubai. As well as a dedicated section for oysters and the raw bar, the menu is split into ‘from the garden’, ‘from the fields’, ‘from the sea’ and ‘from the land’, featuring dishes such as truffle spinach raviolo with butter sage, lobster spaghetti and a salt crusted seabass served with seasonal vegetables.

Perfect for a post-work catch up, they’re introducing ‘Aperitivo’ every day from 6pm to 8pm, where guests can enjoy a special menu of Spritz’ and Martini cocktails as the sun sets.

Their upscale ladies’ night also returns every Wednesday, offering ladies two complimentary glasses of prosecco between 8pm and 10pm.

Of course, the beautiful bar still boasts those same envy-inducing views across the city, offering vistas that stretch both to the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai right across to Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab.
