Here’s what you’ll find inside…
Palm Jumeirah’s Nakheel Mall finally opened its doors on Thursday, November 28 to much excitement from many-a Dubai resident. We went down there to check it out and here’s what we found…
Set over 4.5 million square feet, Nakheel Mall spans five floors and will eventually play host to over 350 retail shops, restaurants and leisure attractions (right now there’s around 130), with underground parking space to accommodate 4,000 vehicles.
The mall features two breathtaking waterfalls that cascade down 65 feet into the mall and will eventually have a fine-dining rooftop plaza with epic views of the Palm, Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline.
There’s a grand entrance, framed by shops on two levels and a stunning multi-coloured ceiling feature, which will guarantee some ooh’s and ahh’s from visitors.

It wouldn’t be a Dubai mall without a food hall and the new one at Nakheel looks like it’s going to be super-cute, with renders showing a coffee roastery, a bakery and some artisanal food sections. It’s named ‘Depachika’, which is the Japanese word describing the basement of department stores where food and groceries are sold. Get ready to come home with a basket filled with goods you never knew you needed. It’s not quite ready yet but it will be soon. Outlets will include the popular Lime Tree Café, Kilikio by Mythos, Salmontini, 1762, Massimo’s Gelato and Moishi Ice Cream, and retailers such as Royce Chocolate, The Lighthouse and Florette.
Din Tai Fung
In the mood for some relaxed Asian fare? Din Tai Fung will tick all of your boxes, with a no-fuss menu that doesn’t compromise on taste. Dishes comprise of delicate tender soup dumplings, comforting sesame noodles, crispy wontons or delicious dim sum. It’ll be the fourth branch of the hugely-popular Taiwanese restaurant in Dubai. It’s not open yet but watch this space.
Pinkberry
Pinkberry originated in LA and is a staple for the more health conscious who want a cold treat with less calories than your standard ice cream. They have endless ribbons of multi-coloured frozen yoghurt to choose from, with toppings ranging from fresh fruit to some naughtier chocolate additions.

Shake Shack
If you’ve long been a Dubai resident, you’ll probably know that when it comes to a comforting burger that does exactly what it says on the tin, then you can’t go too far wrong with Shake Shack. They keep it simple but oh-so-satisfying, and you can bump up your order with their crinkle cut chips and creamy thickshakes.
Shakeaway
If you’re a huge milkshake fan then you’ll be positively bouncing at the news that Shakeaway, the world’s largest milkshake bar company, will have their very own spot at the new mall. Think rows and rows of iconic chocolate bars, cookies, cakes and sweets, just waiting for you to select your favourites to be blended into a milkshake-a-la-you. From Cadbury to Milkybar, Skittles to Starburst and Oreo’s to Lotus Biscoff, they have over 180 flavours and millions of combinations to choose from. Looking for a slightly less calorific option? They’ll also be serving frozen yoghurt, smoothies ‘fit and healthy’ shakes and shaved ice options.
Starbucks
Fill up on your favourite Starbucks treats like belly-warming caramel macchiatos or a seasonal spiced latte. It’ll be an ideal place to sit and work if you’re one of those work-away-from-the-office types.
SUSHISAMBA
While this one isn’t opening in Nakheel Mall, it’ll open 51 floors up in Palm Tower, so deserves a mention anyway. The high-end restaurant will serve up a mix of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine and will sit on the 51st floor of the currently under construction Palm Tower, with panoramic views of The Palm, Arabian Gulf and Dubai Marina skyline. Don’t stop holding your breath just yet though, as it’s not going to open until late 2020.
The Noodle House
Everyone’s favourite noodle house named, ahem, The Noodle House, will open up a brand new branch at Nakheel Mall. Make your noodles just how you like them at the Asian street food restaurant, choosing your favourite noodles, loading it up with veggies, then adding your favourite sauce and protein for a flavour-packed lunch or dinner. Other menu highlights include street food bites like chicken satay and wasabi prawns or steamy crab or beef-filled bao’s or even golden crispy duck. Mmmm.
Wendy’s
If your go-to fast food joint just has to be Wendy’s, then you can head to the new mall to get it. Feast on all of your favourite signature bites like beef burgers, chicken burgers and jalapeno poppers on those days when only comfort food will do.
Urban Seafood
Calling all seafood fans – Urban Seafood will satisfy your cravings with a menu bursting with fresh salmon, crab and other seafood favourites.
Vapiano
Popular Italian eatery, Vapiano, will soon open its doors at the mall. Think made-to-order pastas, pizzas and salads bursting with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of Italian flavour.
Home
H&M Home
If you’re one of those people who can’t stop buying cute things to spruce up your home, you’ll be pleased that H&M Home now resides at the mall, boasting pretty trinkets and homeware.
E-City
Fancy finally getting that new flatscreen TV you’ve been talking about for a while ? It couldn’t hurt to just have a little browse of your options, could it? E City, the electrical goods store will be there for you to ‘accidentally’ stumble upon your dream household electrical while doing your other shopping.
Waitrose
Wondering if Nakheel Mall will become your go-to destination for the grocery shop? A huge branch of the upscale British supermarket is now a resident at the mall and Palm residents in particular are going wild for it. You’ll find all your home essentials plus a rather tempting bakery, cafe and even a cool soup aisle that you’ll be hard-pushed not to stop at.
Samsung
Find all your tablet, mobile phone and gadget needs answered at Samsung’s very own resident store in the mall.
Leisure
Fitness First
Fitness First boasts over 24 branches around the city, offering up classes to suit everyone from yoga to boxing. There’s already a branch at Golden Mile Galleria, but now you’ll be able to squeeze in a workout pre or post shopping trip as the popular gym is now open in Nakheel Mall, with monthly membership prices available on request.

Fabyland
Fabyland is a one-stop indoor playground for little ones, complete with fun rides, ball pools, swings and old-school arcade games. Even if you don’t fancy a shopping trip, this is reason enough to visit the mall with the family for a fun day out.
Nstyle Beauty Lounge
In need of a little TLC? You’ll get everything you need at Nstyle Beauty Lounge’s new branch at Nakheel Mall, where they offering a range of salon services from hair, nails and beauty to waxing and other treatments.
Trampo Extreme
Whether you’re looking to add a little ‘spring’ to your fitness routine or just keep the kids entertained for a few hours whilst you indulge in some undisturbed retail therapy, Trampo Extreme will have you covered.
Vox Cinema
Good news especially for those living on The Palm who fancy a trip to the cinema but can’t be bothered to go too far, popular Vox Cinema will be opening at the mall, with 15 screens showing all the latest movies. That’s a new date night sorted.

No mall (and especially a mall in Dubai) would be complete with out a jewellers and the first one to be announced at Nakheel Mall is DUSOUL by Dhamani Jewels. They’ve got loads of collections and bespoke designs so if you’re looking for that special piece of jewellery, they could be a great contender.
H&M
We love a little high-street shopping spree, so it made us happy to know that one of our trusty favourites, H&M, will be opening up a store at Nakheel Mall. There’s already loads of them at various malls around the city, but it never hurts to have one more. There’s also a H&M Home so you can stock up on some cute household additions.

Need some new kicks? Footlocker has you covered with a huge range of branded sports and footwear for the whole family.
Gant

Palm Tower
Palm Tower is set to open in the latter part of 2020 and will come complete with a 289-room St. Regis hotel, 432 luxury apartments, a swanky 50th floor swimming pool, a fine-dining rooftop plaza on the 52nd floor and a top-floor viewing deck. Stretching 240 metres in the sky and accessed by the mall – it’s definitely one to bookmark for any visitors.
