Rod the Mod is en route…

We have some good Sunday news for you: it’s just been announced that British singing legend Rod Stewart will be performing in Abu Dhabi on Thursday March 2.

This will be the 72-year-old’s first concert in Abu Dhabi (although he did croon for Dubai crowds in 2010).

So where is it? The show will be at the du arena on Yas Island, with pre-sale tickets starting for du customers at 12pm tomorrow, and a Flash pre-sale starting at 12pm on Tuesday. General ticket sales start at 12pm on Wednesday.

Stewart’s career sparked off in the late ’60s thanks to his distinctly crackly voice, and as you can see from this video filmed only a few months ago, he’s still got it 50 years later:

He’s known for his banter mid-concert (love it), as well as for performing his biggest hits at concerts, so yes, we can definitely expect to see this one on the night:

But Stewart does have new stuff – his latest album Another Country shot straight to number 2 when it was released in October 2015. Here’s a tune from that:
