What’s On has full details on the Eid Al Fitr concerts with Mohamed Abdo and Habib Elyasi, on July 18 and 19, in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Just in time for the Eid Al Fitr holiday celebrations, the prolific Saudi singer Mohamed Abdo will be performing at the du Forum on Saturday July 18. Dubbed ‘the Artist of the Arabs,’ Abdo has been singing for over 50 years and is best known for performing classical Arabic poems and songs.

“It is always a great pleasure for me to come and sing in the United Arab Emirates and perform in front of so many people who enjoy my music. To help celebrate Eid Al Fitr will make the night even more special for me and the crowd,” said Abdo. “I can’t wait to be there and be part of a memorable evening in Abu Dhabi.”

Residents of Al Ain meanwhile will be able to listen to the up-and-coming Emirati singer, Habib Elyasi, who will perform at the Al Ain Municipality Theatre on Saturday. Elaysi’s unique voice, which has been compared to a nightingale, has helped him garner a strong fan base here in the UAE.

On Sunday July 19, Elyasi will be in the capital for another performance at the du Forum. While there, Elyasi will be joined onstage by Palestinian speed painter Mohammed Aldairi, who will create art in a flash, as part of the concert’s opening act.

The Eid shows are being held as part of the Abu Dhabi Summer Season, which will see a variety of concerts and live shows take place across the Emirate until September. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.ae or at all Virgin Megastore outlets.
