Explore Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

The capital’s new indoor theme park on Yas Island opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, and inside you’ll find 29 rides featuring characters such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Bugs Bunny, The Flintstones and a whole lot more. Check out our comprehensive guide to the park, here.

Dance the night away at Cachée


A pool party on Saadiyat, Cachée is back for a new season and features live performers, gourmet food, fire shows and DJs. Swimwear is essential for this one, as you’ll be making good use of the pool. Saif and Sound plus DJ SLIM will spin the tunes.

Make a date for Liwa

Liwa date festival
The annual Liwa Date Festival, hosted in the Western Region, started July 18 and runs until July 29. The festival expects to attract some 70,000 visitors. As well as buying dates and associated products, visitors can also check out a market selling traditional Emirati goods. There’s also a Children’s Village to keep kids amused.

ALLDAY Live! at Emirates Palace


A Summer Season first and a unique way to watch several different types of entertainment, ALLDAY Live! will feature six live shows a day – you pay for one ticket to get in and then spend as long as you like at the venue, watching as many of the shows as you want. Taking part are the Hollywood Special Effects Show (where you’ll learn the science and secrets used to get blockbusters on to the big screen) and light and shadow performers Fireflies Shadow Theatre. There’s also a Chillout Zone where you’ll be able to get food and drinks in between performances.

Dance at Roberto’s house nights


DNA is the name of Roberto’s new house nights. The Italian restaurant has resident DJs N.I.K.O.L.A. and DJ Christiana spinning the tunes (the former on Thursday, the latter tonight), and bar bites will be available until 2.30am.

Unite With Tomorrowland

Clubbers at the ready: Dance festival Tomorrowland makes its Abu Dhabi debut this weekend. First launched in 2005, Tomorrowland is one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious electronic music festivals, held annually at Boom in Belgium. The event is set to connect the venue in Abu Dhabi, along with Italy, Malta, Spain, Taiwan, Mexico and Lebanon to the main Tomorrowland stage in Belgium, meaning more than 200,000 electronic music fans will come together around the globe.

A summer of sport at ZSC


Zayed Sports City is hosting the annual Abu Dhabi Sports Festival this summer. Take your friends and choose from a variety of sports including basketball, football and table tennis. They’re suitable for all fitness levels. Football pitches cost Dhs300 per hour, volleyball bookings are Dhs150 per hour and walk-ins are accepted subject to availability. Children aged between four and twelve can purchase Open Play session tickets for Dhs21 and parents, nannies and younger siblings can come for free.

Dance and culture at Around The World


Bawadi Mall in the garden city of Al Ain is hosting Around The World during Abu Dhabi Summer Season – it’s a series of folklore dance performances featuring troupes from six countries, including Poland, Serbia, Peru and Armenia.

Local art at Al Qattara


There’s a new exhibition running in Al Ain this summer that’s all about community. Summer Exhibition at Al Qattara Arts Centre is showcasing 28 artworks by 23 emerging UAE-based artists and students. Running until late September, each piece offers insight into how every artist views their community, society and the world using a variety of mediums including oils, pastels and digital art. The exhibition also includes pieces by local Al Qattara students, fitting given that since opening in 2011 the centre has offered locals a year-long public programme including exhibitions, activities and art workshops.
