Al Barsha is not the sort of place you’d expect to find an ice cream parlour serving 12 flavours of ice cream made with fresh milk, cream and fruit. But the pistachio ice cream we tried at Bacio Gelato was delicious.

Espresso at Baker & Spice, Dhs28
One of our favourite cafés serves seven flavours, including a dairy-free coconut ice cream made with coconut milk and topped with coconut sugar. However, the espresso is our pick. It goes nicely with a fresh cup of their Raw coffee.

Raspberry sorbet at London Dairy, Dhs19
London Dairy’s bestseller is, rather surprisingly (until you taste it), the raspberry sorbet. Light, bright, served in a cup and topped with almonds and rainbow sprinkles, the little ones will love it. As will the big ones.
