One of Britain’s most recognisable comedians, Al Murray and his xenophobic alter-ego, ‘The Pub Landlord’ is set to stop by in Dubai for a quick drink on October 2 as part of his latest world tour.
Murray’s huge stand-up shows have made him one of the most popular live comedians in the UK, with sell-out gigs at venues including the O2 Arena in London, with critics hailing his act as ‘one of the funniest of the decade, if not the century.’
Don’t let this big-bellied man’s persona fool you though, Murray actually holds a degree from Oxford University. He’s also won the Perrier Award as well as securing Olivier Award nominations for his sell-out West End runs. His Book Of British Common Sense was also a bestseller in the UK and he has also been a part of numerous TV and radio series, including sitcoms, chat shows, quiz shows and historical documentaries.
Murray and his publican persona have also become a regular face in the UAE, with sold-out shows since 2010.
‘The Pub Landlord has become our own comedy regular here in Dubai and will again be serving up pints of laughs and good humour when performing his only Middle East show on this brand new tour’ says Thomas Ovesen, COO Done Events. “As always we expect the tickets to sell fast so do not wait – gets yours now!”
It seems after failing to beat UKIP in the recent UK elections, the funnyman has decided to take a break from politics and travel the world, dishing out a good dose of his ‘British common sense’ along the way.
Murray’s blunt comedy, keen political edge and knowledge of current affairs keeps his act fresh and relevant. One man, one guvnor should make for one unforgettable night.
